Discovery Time
Welcome back to Term 3!
We have started the term off by introducing Discovery Time. In Discovery Time there are four activities that students can choose from. This week is was choosing a LEGO Challenge card and completing it, creating and using play dough, creating and building with magnets or coding on the iPads using Scratch Jr.
Everyone got the opportunity to use Scratch Jr on our iPads for the first time. We learnt how to add characters and settings, as well as how to use basic coding to move the characters around the screen.
We will have more practice at it, and soon we will be creating stories with our characters using basic coding!
Discovery Time is for students to learn important social skills with others such as: sharing, taking turns, waiting for a turn, communicating their ideas with others and listening to others ideas.
